The three main proteins involved to form neurotransmitter SNARE (Soluble NSF Attachment REceptor) complexes are synaptobrevin (also known as VAMP (Vesicle-Associated Membrane Proteins), SNAP-25 (synaptosomal-associated protein of 25 kDa), and syntaxin.
